Smart Film on glass walls allows you to maintain the open office setting but gives you the flexibility to create needed privacy at the flip of a switch. Simply apply Smart Film to existing Glass to become Smart Glass!

CNC Laser cut for custom shapes and sizes are available and multiple pieces can be joined together to create large switchable glazed panels or partitions.

How PDLC Smart Film Works

When the power is switched off the liquid crystal molecules are randomly oriented scattering light and the switchable Smart Film becomes opaque (frosted, private).

When the small electrical supply is switched on, the liquid crystal molecules align and incident light passes through allowing the switchable Smart Film to instantly become clears (transparent)

We are able to produce irregular shapes of Smart Film that can be applied on flat surfaces of all shapes, from round to various triangles, special cutouts to laser engraved logo's, so that during the various operations it can be turned on or off in different segments. We can produce this upt to 2 meters or 78.5" wide and as long as you require.

SAFETY

When you use Smart Film all existing glass will be even stronger and more resistant
  • By using Smart Film on existing glass, it becomes even stronger, if the glass is broken it will remain attached to the PDLC without breaking
  • The main material of PDLC is 0.4 mm thick PET which is much thicker than the usual laminated safety film

BLOCK UV AND IR

Smart Film and Glass are not only smart, they are also considered 'green', ie PDLC saves your energy because Smart Film blocks almost 100% of UV rays and blocks IR when in transparent mode approx. 17%, and on off about 80%.
